Overview

With the emergence of mobile and fixed broadband access, service providers are competing more and more with differentiated value-added services. Management of service quality is crucial for these, as well as many other kinds of service providers, to generate new revenue streams, as well as to retain existing customers.

HP OpenView Service Quality Manager automates the definition, configuration, the real-time monitoring and the historical reporting of:

  • Operational service levels (SLM) and
  • Customer service level agreements (SLA Management).

SQM monitors the end-to-end QoS by aggregating information from all relevant sources from infrastructure, as well as the service provider's business processes themselves. This aggregated information is compared in real time against service level objectives in order to check internal or customer service level commitments and compliance. In case of Degradation (pro-active management) or Violations, SQM notifies immediately Operators and actions can automatically be triggered. SQM provides the foundation to help Service Providers to perform adaptative management
