The integration between HP Software and nGenius streamlines the troubleshooting process and lowers mean time to resolve (MTTR). Alarms from the nGenius Solution supply application intelligence and context to HP Software. Upon receiving an nGenius evidentiary alarm, the network operator can immediately see where in the network the event has occurred and a diagnosis of which applications were involved. To get further details, a URL within the alarm message links directly to real-time contextual graphs in nGenius showing link usage over time, contributing applications, users, and conversations. Data mining is graphical and intuitive, with the deepest sub-second granularity and packet decode available with just a right mouse click to identify the most complex issues, such as the source of a microburst or the root cause of a complex application problem.
The nGenius Performance Management Solution has been certified by Hewlett Packard for an integration with HP Operations Manager and HP Network Node Manager (NNM) and HP Business Availability Center (BAC). Specific integration points include:
- Intelligent alarms from nGenius Analytics provide notification of pending network problems, detailing the behavioral irregularities in the application and link utilization of physical and virtual segments, including Quality of Service classes.

- Standard RMON and MIB II performance alerts from nGenius Performance Manager indicate that utilization or errors have gone above or below pre-set levels.
- All alarms from the nGenius Solution provide a URL to HP Software users to launch a context-sensitive view in nGenius Performance Manager or nGenius Analytics to enable a fluid pathway for further analysis and troubleshooting, reducing the mean-time-to-restore of network performance issues.
