In addition to all the capabilities inherent to TelAlert, the TelAlert NNM SLI enhances TelAlert's connection to NNM by providing:
- A series of event definitions into the NNM Event configuration (trapd.conf). Each one of these definitions corresponds to events that the TelAlert system may send out to NNM in order to inform the operator of the status of various events.
- A menu item under the NNM Tools menu that enables the user to start and stop the TelAlert processes, view the status of TelAlert, and to launch the TelAlert configuration GUI.
- A command line interface that the user can call from within the definition of any SNMP event to forward information about the event, through TelAlert, to any number of TelAlert managed destinations (including SMS, pagers, phones, and email).
