Edge enVision 4.0 is a cost-effective solution that will help service providers and large enterprise customers offer a managed service/end user views based on HPOV NNM topology and event data.
Although HP OpenView Network Node Manager provides rich data, it does not provide secure remote access to the information stored on the NNM servers or scale to support data feeds from more than one server. Edge enVision 4.0 provides significant value in environments that need to deliver end-user views based on HP OpenView topology and event data.This includes secure remote access to the data on NNM servers, and potentially the ability to support integration with other network management solutions within a web portal.
The integration of Edge enVision with HP OpenView Network Node Manager supports large enterprise and service provider environments that offer end-user views or managed services based on NNM topology and event data. To meet these needs, the enVision product can function in one of three ways:
- Within the Edge enPortal integration framework as a Product Integration Module (PIM)
- As a stand-alone product
- A "portal-ready" plug-in that can function within an existing third-party standards-based web portal supporting JSR168
