Using handheld computers in a wireless or wired environment makes handling service tickets fast and efficient. Text paging can be used to notify field engineers of new service tickets and then their handhelds can capture the ticket information from the service module of your service management system. Once a ticket is complete or updated, the information is sent back to the service management system for processing. In some systems, a single cellular phone / handheld computer combination is used to reduce the amount of equipment a field engineer needs to carry.
