Ascert VersaTest Automation Server Plugin for HP
Quality Center Software bridges the gap between HP Quality Center and
VersaTest’s powerful multi-platform testing solutions. This extends the reach
of HP Quality Center to more platforms and applications within the Enterprise.
VersaTest, the foundation upon which the Ascert VersaTest Automation Server
Plugin for HP Quality Center Software was created, is a message-based testing
and simulation environment for mission-critical servers, which extends testing
boundaries by providing a single testing environment that spans multiple
server platforms. It is used by QA and Development professionals across
myriad industries. VersaTest is utilized extensively in the EFT marketplace,
where it is typically used to simulate POS devices, ATMs, biometric readers,
host interfaces, credit card processor interfaces and other EFT switches. In
general, VersaTest may be used to simulate any intelligent device or message-
based application, to enable the testing of other applications to which they
are connected.
Existing VersaTest installations gain from using the plugin by having their
users be able to define, execute and manage their testing activities from
within the industry-leading test management environment, HP Quality Center. In
addition to being able to leverage Quality Center's many features, it also
removes the necessity to be trained in VersaTest operation; users get the
benefit of expanded test coverage from a familiar setting, without having to
acquire new user skill sets.
Existing Quality Center installations can also benefit from using the plugin
together with VersaTest, since they are able to extend the reach of Quality
Center into back-end testing environments, so enabling more platforms, devices
and interfaces to be tested from a single point of control. For example,
VersaTest is the only product capable of providing native testing capabilities
to HP's NonStop Integrity Servers; this plugin enables such native testing to
be performed from inside HP Quality Center.
